SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Wichita, Kansas-based Allmetal Recycling announced acquisition of assets of over 100-years old Salina metals recycling business. The metals recycling major announced acquisition of Salina Iron & Metal Co. effective January 1, 2023. The acquired business has been rebranded as Allmetal Recycling Salina.
With this acquisition, Allmetal Recycling now operates six facilities in total- three in Wichita, one each in Harper and Newton and the latest in Salina. Across these facilities, the company employs around 175 people.

Commenting on the expansion, Clint Cornejo, owner, Allmetal Recycling noted that it has worked with Salina Iron & Metal over the past several years. It has purchased materials from the company. Also, it has helped Allmetal in implementing its services in the Salina area. The company has had a professional relationship with Butts, the former owner of Salina Iron & Metals.
As per the deal, Butts will continue to lead the trash hauling and collection services, whereas Allmetal will be responsible for the operation and running of its scrap metal business. The current operating hours of the N.Fifth scrap yard will be maintained for time being, with possible half-day working schedule on Saturdays as well, as early as this spring, depending upon demand.
