The contract extension acknowledges Alba and Alcoa's long-standing partnership. It fits well with Alcoa's plan to be the go-to supplier for stable supplies over the long run. For the ensuing ten years, Alba will have a dependable supply of alumina thanks to the extension. Additionally, it will help Alcoa maintain its flexibility in managing its alumina position. Following the renewal of the supply deal, Alcoa will become Alba's primary third-party supplier of alumina.
The agreement ensures a steady supply of alumina for Alba’s operations. Additionally, it will strengthen the company's standing as a major participant in the world market for aluminum.
The contract extension with Alba, according to Alcoa President and CEO William F. Oplinger, will further solidify the company's position as the top supplier of alumina worldwide. He said that this is Alcoa's biggest contract with Alba.
