SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Latin American Steel Association (Alacero) declared proud winners of the 12th edition of the Steel Design Alacero Contest for Architecture Students. The announcement came during the Latin American Steel Congress held in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Brazilian architecture students Bruna Barbosa and Lino de Mendonça of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte were adjudged the winners. The second place went to the group, comprised of Abdia Agüero Pen, Sthefanie Corniel and Andcarlos Camilo and represented by Jorge Florián Vicente of the Pedro Henríquez Ureña National University of the Dominican Republic. In third place was Diego Lacazette and Hugo Valenzuela of the Central University of Chile.

Also, the group of students from the Tecamachalco Higher School of Engineering in Architecture in Mexico received an honourable mention.
The Steel Design Alacero Contest for Architecture Students aims to promote knowledge of steel as a component of construction systems. The theme of this year’s contest was ‘Factory of ideas and innovation’.
