SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Doug Dunworth of SMS Group and Neil Tannyan of Hatch were recently inducted as new board members of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). Their role on the AISI Board of Directors represents associate member companies. Tannyan leads the AISI Associate Member Committee in addition to his other roles.

Tannyan is currently Hatch's USA regional manager for iron and steel. He is a metallurgist with twenty years of expertise. Neil was employed with Stelco, Hilton Works, before joining Hatch. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor and a Master of Applied Science in materials engineering.
Dunworth presently holds the positions of president and chief executive officer for SMS group's Americas division. Similar roles at SMS Technical Services and SMS Millcraft LLC have been held by him in the past. Doug is a graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science and an Associate of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology.
The president and CEO of AISI, Kevin Dempsey, expressed his pride in welcoming Neil and Doug to the board of directors. He continued, "Their knowledge will propel the Institute ahead and advance the narrative of the American steel sector."
