ABB: Reduced Electronic Waste by 93% in Three Years

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):  ABB Energy Industries has announced that its parts circularity program reduced electronic waste sent to landfill by 93% between 2020 and 2023.

Out of 32,000 defective parts treated, waste sent to landfill fell from 214.5 kg in 2020 to 14.2 kg in 2023.

This program encourages the repair, reuse and recycling of parts to extend their lifespan and reduce the need for virgin resources.

' Traceability and extending the life of our products are key to preserving natural resources and reducing emissions', commented Marie-Hélène Westholm-Knebel, Global Head of Sustainability at ABB Energy Industries.
