5th July, 2024: North American Scrap Metal Prices Soared on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper and aluminum scrap prices surged higher on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on July 5^th, Friday. Brass and Bronze scrap prices too were up on Index. Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices held steady on Index when matched with the day before.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap edged higher by $0.01 per Lb on Index. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing rose by $0.13 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.13 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright went higher by $ 0.13 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery edged higher by $0.03 per Lb over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were up by $0.02 per Lb on Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices edged higher by $0.05 per Lb.

Copper Radiator prices were up by $0.05 per Lb.

Copper Transformer Scrap prices were up by $0.01 per Lb over the day. CuYokes prices too increased by $0.01 per Lb on Index. Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices surged higher by $0.01 per Lb when compared with the previous day.

The prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe were up by $0.02 per Lb each on July 5th, 2024.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices rose by $0.02 per Lb.

Heater cores prices were up by $0.02 per Lb on Index.

Romex Wire prices edged higher by $0.03 per Lb over the previous day.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed units, Starters and Xmas Lights witnessed marginal rise by $0.01 per Lb from previous day price levels.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices were flat over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap too were unchanged on Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe too recorded no change over the previous day.

The prices of 6063 Extrusions were flat over the day.

Also, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions held steady when compared with the previous day.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe were up by $0.02 per Lb each on Index. Aluminum Radiators prices were flat over the day. Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers prices held steady. Breakage 50% Recovery prices recorded no change on July 5^th, 2024.

Chrome Wheels were unchanged on Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices decreased by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.

Litho Sheets and MLC Clips held steady from previous day’s levels.

Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices too were unmoved.

The prices of Old Cast and UBC were flat over the previous day.

Old Sheet, Painted Siding and Zorba 90% NF prices too witnessed no change.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too reported no change on 5^th July, 2024.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices when compared with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS and 301 SS prices were flat on Index.

304 SS Solid prices too were unchanged over the previous day.

304 SS Turning prices recorded no change on July 5^th, 2024.

309 SS and 310 SS prices held steady on a daily basis.

330 SS prices were stagnant over the prior day.

316 SS Solid prices witnessed no change on Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region soared on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator scrap prices surged higher by $0.04 per Lb each on July 5^th, 2024.

Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices were up by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

Red Brass, Yellow Brass and Rod Borings prices increased by $0.04 per Lb on Index.
