4th September, 2023-North American Scrap Metal Prices Soared on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American scrap metal prices surged higher on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on September 4^th, Monday. Copper scrap prices soared on Index. Aluminum and Stainless Steel scrap prices recorded increase over the previous day. Meantime, Brass, Bronze and Steel scrap prices held steady on Index.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap witnessed no change on Index. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing  and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were up by $0.02 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright too increased by $0.02 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery were down by $0.01 per Lb over the day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices held steady on Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices surged higher by $0.02 per Lb from previous day’s level.

The prices of Copper Radiator scrap witnessed no change from previous day’s levels. Copper Transformer Scrap and CuYokes prices were flat over the previous day.

Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices too were unchanged when compared with the day before.

Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe recorded no change on September 4^th, 2023.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Heater cores prices were unchanged on Index.

The price of Romex Wire was flat during the day.     

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed units, Starters and Xmas Lights saw no change from previous day price levels.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices inched higher by $0.01 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap were up by $0.01 per Lb on Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions too increased by $0.01 per Lb each.

The prices of 6061 Extrusions recorded upmove of $0.01 per Lb over the day.

Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6063 Extrusions/Fe soared by $0.01 per Lb each when compared with the previous day.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe were unchanged on Index. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices too were flat. Aluminum Transformers prices were unchanged. Breakage 50% Recovery prices witnessed no change on September 4^th, 2023.

Chrome Wheels inched higher by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day.

Litho Sheets and MLC Clips were up by $0.01 per Lb each respectively from previous day’s levels.

Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices increased by $0.01 per Lb.

The prices of Old Sheet, Old Cast, Zorba and UBC saw surge by $0.01 per Lb each over the previous day.

Painted Siding prices too were up by $0.01 per Lb each.

 Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle and #1 Busheling prices were flat over the previous day.

The prices of #1 HMS too witnessed no change on 4^th September, 2023.

HMS 80/20 prices were unchanged on Index.

Sheet Metal prices recorded no change on Index.

Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel prices also were unchanged in comparison with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices held steady on Index.

301 SS recorded surge by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices increased by $0.01 per Lb each on September 4^th, 2023.

309SS and 310 SS prices were up by $0.01 per Lb and $0.02 per Lb respectively on a daily basis.

330 SS prices increased by $0.03 per Lb when compared with the prior day.

Meantime, 316 SS Solid prices too inched higher by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

 Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region were unmoved on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap and 85/15 Brass Scrap prices were flat on Monday, September 4^th, 2023.

Brass Radiator, Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices were flat on Index.

Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices too were unchanged over the prior day.
