11th May, 2021: North American Scrap Metal Prices Soared on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper and aluminum scrap prices continued to surge higher on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on May 11^th, Tuesday. Brass and Bronze scrap prices too were up on Index. Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices held steady on Index when matched with the day before.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap remained unchanged on Index. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing rose by $0.06 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.06 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright went higher by $ 0.06 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery edged higher by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices too were up by $0.01 per Lb on Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices edged higher by $0.06 per Lb.

Copper Radiator prices were up by $0.02 per Lb.

Copper Transformer, CuYokes and Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices were unchanged from the previous day.

Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe were up by $0.01 per Lb each on May 11^th, 2021.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Heater cores prices inched higher by $0.01 per Lb each on Index.

The price of Romex Wire edged higher by $0.02 per Lb.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed units, Starters and Xmas Lights witnessed no change over the prior day.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap too were up by $0.01 per Lb on Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe too were up by $0.01 per Lb each.

The prices of 6063 Extrusions increased by $0.01 per Lb over the day.

Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions were up by $0.01 per Lb each when compared with the previous day.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe inched higher by $0.01 per Lb each. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices too were up by $0.01 per Lb. Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb on May 11^th, 2021.

Chrome Wheels and E.C Aluminum Wire prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb and $0.02 per Lb respectively over the previous day.

Litho Sheets and MLC Clips surged by $0.01 per Lb from previous day’s levels.

Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices too soared by $0.01 per Lb.

The prices of Old Cast, UBC, Old Sheet, Painted Siding and Zorba 90% NF were up by $0.01 per Lb each over the previous day.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too reported no change on 11^th May, 2021.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices when compared with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS and 301 SS prices reported no change.

304 SS Solid prices too remained flat over the previous day.

304 SS Turning witnessed no change in prices on May 11^th, 2021.

309 SS and 310 SS prices saw no change in price on a daily basis.

330 SS prices were flat from the prior day.

Meantime, 316 SS Solid prices too remained unchanged on Index.

 Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region soared on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb.

80/20 Brass Scrap and 85/15 Brass Scrap surged higher by $0.02 per Lb each on May 11^th, 2021.

Brass Radiator prices were up by $0.02 per Lb.

Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices held steady on Index.

Red Brass, Yellow Brass and Rod Borings prices increased by $0.02 per Lb from the previous day.
