The opportunity
We are looking for a Steam Engineer (Unlimited License); the role will be residentially based in Boron, California, to operate the boilers, water softeners, and related equipment.
Steam Engineers are required to perform other duties as directed by the Department Supervisor. This role covers multiple shifts in a 24/5 operation and shifts are generally assigned by plant seniority.
What the role entails
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
Operating the boilers and related equipment
Drawing water samples and performing chemical tests on the samples and adjusts chemical feed rates
Opening and closing valves, lighting the boilers, starting and stopping pumps and monitoring equipment
Making repairs and performing equipment lubrication as required
Completing work assignments in accordance with relevant HSE work instructions and job procedures
Maintaining familiarization with HSE components of relevant work instructions and job procedures
Reporting suggestions to improve HSE components of work instructions and job procedures to management personnel
