The Role

As the General Manager you will:

• Ensure that our fleet of waste Management vehicles including Front End Loaders (FEL) and trade refuse vehicles are maintained compliant and safe
• Ensure high levels of customer service are maintained at all times
• Work closely with dedicated sales team to ensure business share is being won & retained
• Promote best practice working and thinking which delivers on the overall business plan
• Raises the profile of the company through internal and external communications
• Ensure consistency and quality of approach to all related services
• Manage third party relationships, including key customers, innovation and relevant business support services
• Manage employee relations, including motivating staff to be best in class, provide targets and controls, disciplinary & Grievance matters, absence and performance reviews
• Provide timely management reports to the board
• Ensure Company compliance procedures are adhered to and maintained – Transport, Health & Safety, Licence & Permitting, etc.

Your Profile

The successful candidate will:

• Highly motivated with a drive to succeed
• Have experience and a good track record in multi-collection management
• Have excellent management skills
• Have excellent communication skills, face to face, telephone & written
• Have razor-sharp attention to detail
• Have experience developing strategic plans/ideas
• CPC qualified
• Be proficient in the use of IT – Microsoft and some bespoke
• Be a proven problem solver
• Be able to show a high-level of awareness and knowledge of industry best-practice
• Be able to manage and motivate a support team together with external supply resources
