The Opportunity

We are looking for a ‘Record to Report’ Process Consultant for the Finance Enterprise Business Solutions or SAP FI/CO area to successfully implement, maintain and improve the common financial business solutions for various mining business units and support functions. This will be done by ensuring effective communication and engagement between BU stakeholders, users and delivery teams to deliver customer needs and drive value through embedding of solutions within the global standards and processes designed.

Rio Tinto Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) is charged with delivering the portfolio of projects and services that are provided to and in collaboration with operational business units and other shared service organisations.

What the role entails

This role is a great opportunity for a business process professional to deploy, embed and improve solutions that enable financial management processes and integration with other business processes, specifically SAP FI/CO, Business Warehouse reporting and other enterprise solutions. Working a 5 days on, 2 off roster and reporting to the Manager ‘Record to Report’ Controlling Delivery, you will be:

• Co-ordinating all solution sponsored initiatives in the region, initiating and facilitating programmes of work to enhance value for business units and ensuring alignment to the business process strategy
• Maximising use of current SAP and other system capabilities within finance process domain
• Delivering business process and system consulting initiatives with focus on continuous improvement of business processes and drive towards commonality in business process, data and key performance indicators.
• Engaging with the stakeholders to guide them through system improvement activities, including definition of business requirements and advising where capability already exists
• Supporting system transition activities in your key areas of influence, including communications with stakeholders on impacts relevant to the in scope applications and deliverables.
• Maintaining key relations with stakeholders relevant to in scope applications in the region and develop collaborative relationships with your extended business process team, Subject Matter Experts and other internal stakeholders.
