ORIGINATE

When the animals still spoke, father Frans was already collecting old metals with a trailer. That was the start of the company that you know today as Metaalhandel Wynants en Zonen. It didn't take long before Bart and Steven, the two sons, got involved in the activities, where the trailer had to make way for a small second-hand truck with a hydraulic crane.

As business continued to grow strongly, the 3 men took over the business in 1994 from a colleague from Breendonk. And how! The customer base grew quickly and exponentially, as did the piles of scrap and scrap metal. Better and bigger equipment was purchased to process these materials.

The first container truck was not long in coming, followed by an even larger one and a trailer for drop-off containers.

GROWTH

The heaps became too big, the company too small. A new and larger location was required. Wynants and Sons jointly set their sights on Sint-Katelijne-Waver, not so far from their hometown Duffel. The new yard opened at the beginning of 2005. How much the company had grown, from a trailer to a yard with shed, offices, weighbridge, cranes and more!

It soon became apparent that things were not going to rust at the new location either (figuratively then). The underlying terrain was purchased and fully equipped to achieve the current size of 10,000 m². This is how Wynants en Zonen became a household name in the region.

VISION

Wynants en Zonen believe in the future of the metal trade, because this is an effective and environmentally friendly way to tackle the mountain of waste. In this way, metals and other substances become available again for reprocessing. That is why we are also a member of relevant organizations such as Recupel , Febelauto and Coberec .

They also believe in the power of entrepreneurship and Wynants en Zonen is involved in VOKA 's Plato network . Plato's goal is to offer entrepreneurs a platform to exchange experiences and thus to do business together more strongly.
