WAPA's service territory covers 15 states in the West. The agency markets and delivers more than 10,000 megawatts of reliable, cost-based hydropower from powerplants at 56 Federal dams to rural electric cooperatives, municipalities, public utility districts, Federal and state agencies, Native American tribes and irrigation districts. Power marketing services—These products include long-term, firm power and other long-term sales; non-firm energy and short-term sales; seasonal sales and purchase power. Transmission and ancillary services—Transmission services allow other utilities to use WAPA's transmission system to transmit non-Federal power. Services include point-to-point transmission and network integration transmission services. Ancillary services support the transmission of capacity and energy from resources to loads, while maintaining reliable system operation. Services include scheduling, system control and dispatch services; reactive supply and voltage control from generation sources'​ service; energy imbalance service; regulation and frequency response services and operating reserve services. Transmission Infrastructure Program—The program offers loans to construct, facilitate, plan, operate, maintain, or studying construction of new or upgraded electric power transmission lines and related facilities with at least one terminus within WAPA's service territory and that deliver or facilitate the delivery of power generated by renewable energy resources.
