WEM Srl was established in 1995. The main activity of the company consists in the selection for the valorisation of waste.

The full production phase begins in August 2004.

The company's registered office is in Catania, via Santa Maddalena n. 59, while the production site is located in the industrial area of ​​Catania (Giancata block).

The inadequate and uneven development of separate collections makes it necessary, in fact, to have waste screening systems that make it possible to reach two distinct fractions: the dry and the wet; both can then find their final location in plants authorized to accept only selected waste.

Generally, separate waste collection systems require the presence on the territory of plants capable of a further selection of the collected materials: this selection can be used to remove improper materials, to divide them into further fractions according to the different recycling outlets with effects positive on remuneration and to compose homogeneous batches of packaged materials in order to reduce transport costs.

WEMSrl has designed and built a selection plant for the valorisation of waste, consisting of mobile and fixed equipment specialized in the treatment of waste separated from the organic fraction at the source, in the recovery of recyclable materials contained in the MSW and / or in the treatment of the multi-material object. waste collection, as well as the shredding and volumetric reduction of bulky and / or similar waste.

WEM Srl is registered in the National Register of companies that carry out waste management under number PA00696, in the following categories: 1 class C, 4E and 5E.

AUA (Single Environmental Authorization) N.6 / 1233 of 2016.

It is also registered in the Provincial Register of Companies that intend to carry out waste recovery activities subject to the Simplified Procedures.
