History
Wells Foundry Limited was founded by an entrepreneur named George Walter Wells. George began making carriages at our current site in 1904 and first poured iron as Wells Motors in 1910. George's ifve sons, Alex, Walt, Bruce, Charlie and Jack took over after his death in 1938 and registered as Wells Foundry Limited in 1941. Bill Wells and his brother George took over in 1977 and replaced the old coke fueled cupola with an electric melting furnace in 1981. Steve Wells and his brother Mike took over in 1997 and the 5th and 6th generations plan to continue casting well into the 21st century.
