WTEC provides integrated ‘clean & smart’ waste management and energy recovery infrastructure via continuous Batch Oxidation Systems (cBOS) and waste destruction via smallermobile Batch Oxidation Systems (mBOS). Creating truly sustainable, clean community development around the world, WTEC is uniquely Canadian yet internationally oriented.
For decentralized and onsite clean waste destruction, optional energy recovery and full guarantees, including emissions compliance – our team look forward to working with you..
Waste = a useful resource – post recycled waste, unprocessed municipal solid waste, commercial, industrial, agricultural, biomass, RDF, hazardous or bio-solid waste are all feedstock for our sequential and continuously fed Batch Oxidation System (cBOS) which has proven beneficial over many deployments.
Increasing recycling is also part of solution yet only if there is a feasible market for the recyclables and the energy required to recycle emits less greenhouse gas emissions than treatment. We frequently work with Materials Recycling Facility and Anaerobic Digestion technology for optimal waste solutions.
Different waste streams can be viewed in different ways, steel for example, is highly recyclable. For many other forms of waste recovering its value to provide heat or electricity is now an easy and valuable ‘smart and clean’ solution with our cBOS and Continuous Oxidation Reactor system technology.
It is important to note that our gasification facilities are not incinerators. An incinerator is designed to burn (incinerate) waste & produce ash that is usually disposed of in a landfill. We deploy long proven gasification/oxidation technology that cleanly burns gas from waste in an enclosed system and produces 5% or less inert ash that can be sold or used as aggregate.
Along with clean waste destruction our cBOS systems are ideally suited for local or regional energy production – from 60 to 360mtpd is our ‘sweet spot’. They are ideal cost effective localized plants rather than capital-intensive centralized plants. Our clients are defined by the principle of decentralization, sometimes referred to as the “proximity principle”, whereby the waste is converted into energy used close to its source. This avoids transport costs and emits less greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions than landfilling.
While unsorted municipal waste is the most common feedstock, our Batch Oxidation System cleanly gasifies a diverse range of waste streams including municipal, commercial, medical, construction, demolition, Haz Mat, liquid, tires, treated sewage sludge, animal/fish remains, industrial and process waste, facility-generated waste streams from mines, oil fields, military, hospitals, resorts, commercial, industrial or other installations.
Alternatively the Continuous Oxidation Reactor system continuously convert more uniform feedstock, such as agricultural, tobacco or wood waste, into usable energy.
Optional additional clean electrical power is now much sought after and suitable for communities and organizations, typically with more than 20 mtpd of waste.
WTEC waste-to-energy solution:
Designed for communities, industries, facilities and organizations that seek a clean and smart solution to landfilling or incineration, our sBOS is a proven gasification technology and management solution that provides a clean, smart and affordable method to deal with batches of +/- 1.5 tonnes of waste.
Unlike other small-scale technologies our sBOS uses gasification/oxidation and have evolved via a long track record, require little input energy, are simple, efficient, effective, proven and self contained for rapid deployment.
Our sBOS take any feedstock and cleanly convert it into inert bottom ash and enhance recycling where feasible.
Once the Process Module and Recycling units in the Service Module are married to the common access-way and the stack assembly are complete, the mBOS waste gasification system is ready for operation. For ease of deployment the two modules are joined to a common enclosed walkway accessed from all sections. All components and materials for assembly are shipped in the Service Module.
Being safe and easy to operate the sBOS can be monitored, controlled and serviced remotely. The system is raised to avoid any ground or wildlife interference and is completely secure and self-contained with its own generator. The sBOS can include a fully containerized Emissions Control Systems module to meet any global air emission standard. Features such as loading devices, Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition system (SCADA) are options.
Each sBOS can be equipped with a wash-down system that incorporates a clean drain system to avoid ground pollution for complete clean waste gasification.
The self-contained sBOS can be configured to be skid mounted for deployment within its own building.
