The BVBA Flemish Collection Center for Textiles collects worn textiles throughout Flanders.

The collected goods are delivered in full to the recycling company Recutex NV recognized by Ovam, which ensures that these goods are processed optimally and with the lowest possible environmental impact. This on the one hand in a fraction of wearable clothing and on the other hand raw materials intended for recycling and cleaning cloths.

This sorting is necessary because the collected goods cannot be sent directly to third world countries due to their composition (winter clothing for Africa, rags and waste). This is also to prevent unusable clothing and waste from ending up in these countries where they would then be dumped.

In order to collect 'textile waste' in Flanders, one must have an accreditation as a collector and transferor of waste, delivered by the Public Waste Agency of Flanders, abbreviated OVAM.

Flemish Collection Center Textiel BVBA was recognized by OVAM under number 80073. This accreditation runs until 25.08.2026.

Collection containers: the containers, which are spread over the entire Flemish part of the country, are emptied at least once a week and several times if necessary. This way we avoid textiles ending up next to the containers. The containers are also provided with the necessary markings so that people know exactly what is allowed in the containers and what is not. We are organized in such a way that we can provide regular and correct reports to the public authorities and the Ovam on the collected quantities per city or municipality.

Door-to-door collections: can possibly be organized in consultation with the public administration.
