1981
The original VRC site was in Memphis, TN — a custom-built vault protecting personal assets.
1988
VRC was formally founded in Memphis, TN with just three employees and 20 clients. It soon upgraded its offsite storage services to protect various information assets, including critical business records, artifacts, film, and more. 1996 The company purchased its second location in Charleston, SC.
2000
As the electronic age emerged, VRC introduced its document scanning and workflow solution, VitalScan.
2003
To provide complete information lifecycle management from creation to disposal, VRC added its secure destruction solution, VitalShred.
Evolution to National Leader for Information Management
2005
For advanced chain of custody, VRC began tracking all inventory and processes using radio frequency chip technology - VitalRF.
2014
To help medical clients comply with ever-changing regulations, VRC introduced its healthcare solution, VitalChart, with a strong focus on release of information.
2017
Starting the year with a presence in 20 markets, primarily in the Southeastern U.S., VRC began expanding nationwide. This included the expansion of operations into Alaska in 2018.
2021
Today, VRC is a leading information management provider, servicing more than 70 U.S. markets coast-to-coast and the Bahamas.
