Leonardo Vigna was born in Apriglino, Calabria , on Monday April 19, 1954. He arrived in Belgium with his mother and his brothers six years later.

From 14 years old, he works! At Forges de Clabecq, then at Verreries de Manage.

In 1975, he had modest savings. They enabled him to create a small general food store in La Hestre: VL Discount .

While his wife runs the store, Leonardo Vigna , travels around the Center in a truck to sell fruit and vegetables. It will soon add an additional service: the delivery of drinks to various cafes, on behalf of brewers.

These comings and goings by truck allow him to see that we are building a lot. However, before laying the foundations, it is necessary to develop the land, evacuate land, sometimes demolish old buildings and, therefore, remove the rubble ...

In addition, at the time, few local companies offered these services.

So there is a market to be taken! Having handed over his business, 1980 saw the founding of Vigna Leonardo Terrassements , VLT.

Leonardo Vigna will be among the first to rent containers for the building in La Louvière.

Very quickly, the sites followed one another. Efficient, available, his work and his prices are appreciated. Word of mouth leads an abundant and varied clientele to call on its services.

Profits are immediately reinvested in quality equipment. The early Volvo truck gave way to a mighty Mercedes. Various civil engineering machines complete the vehicle fleet.

In 2006, after more than 25 years of good and loyal service, the VLT ceased its activities.

In its beginnings, the company was mainly responsible for renting containers, both for individuals and for professionals.

However, the containers can also be used to deliver materials , such as Rhine sand , stabilized material , gravel, etc. to the site.

The name of Vigna was known, with an excellent reputation, service and prices appreciated ... The clientele, always thanks to word of mouth, is becoming more and more numerous.

The company will therefore enlist the services of additional drivers and, of course, will buy one and then two more trucks. The “herd” of containers will also grow over time. Great care will be taken to widen the choice of capacities in order to be able to satisfy all requests.

VMCT is also developing IT tools to improve order management and invoicing.

From 2008, the company delivered containers well beyond the Center region. In the streets of Mons, Charleroi, Brussels, Namur, we can see our white containers edged in yellow, easily recognizable.

At the same time, following intense prospecting, construction “heavyweights” in Belgium called on VMCT to collaborate on sensitive projects:

• A military base, in Sterrebeek
• A university complex, in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert
• Marie Curie hospital, in Charleroi

In 2012, VMCT responded to the call of the non-profit organization “Le Petit Godet” , from Morlanwelz . This involves arranging the surroundings of their Day Center, located on the road to Cronfestu. The budget is tight and there is a lot to achieve: redevelopment of the land and creation of a green space, development of a parking lot, with its public lighting.
