Vesterbro Produkhandel was founded in 1957, when Irmand Nielsen got his license to trade in used items such as iron, cardboard, paper and cloths. This certificate was issued by the chief of police in Herning.
At that time, the address was Ringkøbingvej 26. Here was a small warehouse for cardboard and paper. Already the year after the foundation of the company, the address is moved to Ringkøbingvej 44 to a new warehouse with associated space for scrap iron.
It was not until 1965 that the company moved outside Herning to Granvænget, which is the company's address today. In 1974, the company's corporate form changed to a limited liability company, where the sons Allan and Kurt Nielsen became shareholders.
After the father's death in 1998, the brothers ran the family company until 2011, when the company was restructured. This meant that the management of the company was taken over by Poul D. Nielsen, Kurt Nielsen, Allan Nielsen and Kasper Nielsen (3rd gen). In 2022 Kurt Nielsen retires after 50 years in the company and Martin Eriksen takes over.
Today, Vesterbro Produkhandel is a modern recycling company that meets all environmental requirements from the authorities.
Today, we are in possession of the most modern equipment for processing iron scrap and metals, which means that iron and metal are prepared for our customers, which are mainly foundries and smelters in large parts of the world.
With over 65 years of experience in the industry, we know that it requires trust among customers and business partners to be able to exist as a business, and this is precisely why this is a large part of the foundation of Vesterbro Produkhandel.
