Valley Machine & Welding was founded in 1960 by Mr. Harold S. Long in a backyard shop at his Flintstone, Georgia residence. Soon thereafter, Mr. Long joined with Mr. Hubert Loveless and Mr. Pettus Guinn and established the business at the intersection of Hooker Road and Fagan Street in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
In 1963, Valley Machine & Welding Co., Inc. received its corporate charter from the State of Tennessee and moved to the current location at 4500 Fagan Street, directly behind the original property. Mr. Guinn withdrew from the business to pursue his own interests.
In 1983, the company acquired the holdings of Mr. Loveless making Mr. Long the principle owner of the company. After Mr. Long’s death in 2007, the company has remained under family control and management. In 2003, Mr. Clark Werner became President and CEO. Responding to the decline in local business, the company began to pursue business on a regional basis, ultimately serving customers throughout the Eastern US and occasionally beyond.
Today the company is poised to serve the fabrication and machining needs of the southeast and eastern US with a reputation for on-time delivery and work that exceeds expectations.
