U.S. Metals, Inc. conditioned steel shot and grit is available in all sizes, with smaller particle sizes being more readily available. U.S. Metals, Inc. conditioned steel shot and grit is free from tailings and voids often found in virgin steel shot and grit, resulting in excellent cleaning, less dust and a life-span almost equal to that of virgin steel shot and grit.

In August of 1988 Jim Green realized his dream and goal of becoming a business owner when he partnered with a business aquaintance and U.S. Metals, Inc. was formed. Graduating from Troy State University, Troy, Alabama, with a background in teaching/coaching and also with 15 years experience in the steel shot and steel grit industry, he was ready to meet the challenge. After approximately 2-1/2 years his partnership dissolved and U.S. Metals, Inc. became his sole responsibility. Three years later he put up an eight thousand square foot warehouse addition on the five acre site. Jim met the challenge and the company has prospered and grown to be a major recycler and distributor of quality steel shot and steel grit in today’s market. In 1995 Jim's son, Jamie, came aboard after attending Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois, where he studied business, bringing with him new ideas and energy to grow the company. In 2012, Jamie was the driving force in adding yet another eight thousand square foot warehouse addition, with a second loading dock, to the already existing sixteen thousand square foot building.
