Who we are

TRM SpA (Metropolitan Waste Treatment) is the Iren Group company that designed, built and - currently - manages the waste-to-energy plant of the Metropolitan City of Turin pursuant to the Service Contract with ATO-R.

The waste-to-energy plant is a plant aimed at treating waste that cannot otherwise be recovered following separate waste collection. It valorises the energy contained in them by producing electricity and heat and therefore constitutes the final link in the integrated waste management system. By burning waste at high temperatures, the Turin waste-to-energy plant generates new energy to be fed into the grid, thus connecting the beginning and end of the production cycle: the valorisation of waste puts energy into circulation .
