For over 50 years, Treasure Hunt has been a part of the Meredith family. Our founder, John Robert, and his wife, Barbara, created Coins, Inc. and operated in six Gimbel's locations, then moved to Kaufmann’s until 1995, when John Robert passed away. John Rotherham Meredith and Jeannette Meredith Dodd, John Robert’s son and daughter, took over the family business and renamed it Treasure Hunt, opening stand alone locations in the Pittsburgh area.
Treasure Hunt has six locations in the Pittsburgh area, and one location in Pompano, Florida. The staff at each location is trained to offer our customers the highest level of service and knowledge in line with our motto: Honesty, Integrity, and Exceptional Customer Service.Treasure Hunt believes in total transparency in our pricing, and eliminates the negotiation process by offering the best price right from the start. Our high-volume buying means we can offer better pricing than smaller dealers, in-home gold parties or the “here-today-gone-tomorrow” companies that set up shop for a weekend. We guarantee no one will pay you more or treat you better.
We are committed to serving our communities fairly and providing them with a high-quality buying and selling experience. Our organization is proud to have partnered with many charitable causes to help in any way that we can to raise money and awareness
