Transucatas, SA started its activity in the area of ​​ferrous metals in Arranhó in 1991 and in 1997 opened new facilities in Seixal. In these more recent facilities, it developed its activity and evolved into other areas, namely in the integral management of waste. Transucatas, SA operates in the area of ​​global waste management, promoting sorting, treatment and recycling through its recovery and recycling, thus giving a destination to a set of waste that until now had a low route for recycling, thus contributing to the minimization of landfill.

Since 2003, Transucatas, SA has been considered an accredited collection point by the used tire management entity – Valorpneu, receiving all types of used tires.

In October 2005, Transucatas, SA established itself as the reception and dismantling center for end-of-life vehicles belonging to the Valorcar Network. The Transucatas, SA reception and dismantling center is equipped with all the technology necessary for the decontamination and dismantling of end-of-life vehicles, ensuring that it is treated in an environmentally correct manner and that the respective registrations and registration are cancelled.

As of 2007, Transucatas, SA became the reception center for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), integrated in the AMB3E and ERP management entities, receiving all WEEE flows, and carrying out their storage and sorting.

Transucatas, SA, also holds Construction Permit No. 57154, since 2007, issued by IMPIC, having, for some years, a great experience in the dismantling of industrial units.

In 2013, Transucatas, SA opened the Maia Unit, where a Metal Separation and WEEE Dismantling Unit is installed. This unit made it possible to create added value in the recovery of metals, using state-of-the-art technology that allows this multidisciplinary approach to waste treatment, in a single line. With this UTVR (Waste Treatment and Recovery Unit), it is possible to recover a fraction of waste that until then was being sent to landfill, by separating the ferrous and non-ferrous fraction and the fuel fraction that can be sent for energy recovery. .

Transucatas, SA is part of a group of companies whose objective is to eliminate the disposal of waste in landfills, transforming waste into raw materials and reusable products, with the mission of offering quality services, in accordance with the environmental concerns of the companies and institutions, complying with all the legislation in force and seeking continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

In this way, Transucatas, SA contributes to a better environment and sustainable development, through the correct treatment and disposal of waste, being part of the Industrial Ecology Parks (PEI), currently located in Maia, Seixal and Chamusca.
