Transcontinental Steel initially was founded in 1989 by Val Casalinho as Val Welding, a small welding company. Initially, the company projects consisted mostly of stairwells and heavy welding. In 1999, Joel Rosenthal joined the company and it became the partnership known today as Transcontinental Steel. The company’s services expanded to include more types of steel work. A subsidiary company, Rose Railings, was also formed shortly thereafter dedicated to the production of residential, commercial, and industrial steel and aluminum railings. In 2005, Transcontinental Steel and Rose Railings integrated and the scope of railing fabrication is now contracted solely to commercial and industrial projects. Today, Transcontinental Steel is a growing company currently owned and managed by Joel Rosenthal and Val Casalinho.
