Trans Bay Steel Corp. is centrally located in Richmond California. This facility offers approximately 40,000 square feet of undercover fabricating space supporting fabrication and storage operations. We are positioned minutes from San Francisco and Highway 80, and are physically situated to serve a wider area of heavy steel plate fabrication and structural building projects in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and the greater Sacramento metropolitan area.Trans Bay Steel Corp. performs high quality steel fabricating to close tolerances as an AISC certified Shop. Providing heavy rolling, forming, machining, burning, welding, fabricated and structural products for the petroleum, marine, offshore, bridge and construction industries. Large diameter thick walled (8”x10’A36, 4”x10’ HY-80) steel plate is formed on our rolls, medium carbon steel thru higher yield grades and alloys. All welding certified to AWS and AISC standards. Fabricating steel beam and plate for all heavy industry applications.

Heavy Bridge piling, structural, and mechanical fabrication continue as a major focus with a new emphasis on structural steel construction that complements Trans Bay Steel’s on-going efforts to bring the finest quality fabricated product to current and future customers.  A newly added beam line and plate processor creates an additional large structural steel facet increasing Trans Bay Steel’s fabricating abilities. Plasma and hole drilling in processed plate creates an advantage not only for heavy plate but gauge steels and alloys.

Trans Bay Steel features the largest heavy-duty plate forming rolls and lathe on the west coast coupled with a CNC burning table capable of double beveling thick steel plate ranging up to 20’ wide and 45’ in length. Large-scale machining capabilities are augmented by a CNC controlled 250-ton capacity with out support horizontal Betts lathe (10’ diameter by 90’center to center). This places Trans Bay Steel in a unique position to fabricate large projects that would otherwise go to foreign competition.Many Trans Bay Steel employees bring trade skills learned in the local environments of Kaiser Steel and Mare Island Naval shipyards and other bay area fabricators.
