Established in 1971, Thompson Engineering initially focused on the educational market. In 1972, Thompson Engineering became a distributor of Rauland-Borg Corporation. Rauland has long enjoyed a reputation as a key player in the development and sale of electronic systems in the educational and healthcare marketplace. As one of Rauland’s top distributors, Thompson Engineering earned Stellar Partner status, signifying a high level of training and commitment to customer service and the Rauland products. After establishing a solid reputation within the educational market, Thompson expanded its focus to include the healthcare market. Thompson currently has systems in over 100 school districts and many hospitals and other healthcare facilities within the three counties in which it operates. In the healthcare market, it has continued to foster its relationship with Rauland-Borg, which is one of the largest suppliers of nurse call equipment in the United States. With over 50 employees, Thompson has maintained continual growth while maintaining a commitment to providing quality products and installations to its customers. It maintains California C-7 and C-10 contractors’ licenses, as well as a California Alarm Company license. Each member of its design management team is experienced in all aspects of systems integration. As Thompson reflects upon its 40 years, it is acutely aware of changes within the market and changes in technology.
