In 2004 Thermtech defined its ambition of creating the global technology standard for the treatment of oily waste, with the aim of contributing to a cleaner world. Since then the number of TCC®’s in the world has grown steadily.
There are currently more than 50 TCC® units, designed and built by Thermtech and its license holders, in operation both onshore and offshore across the globe, treating hundreds of thousands tons of oily drilling waste.
Thermtech works closely with existing and new clients to continue to deliver market leading waste management solutions to the market. Using the same reliable, efficient and proven technology, and the extensive expertise and know-how built up over many years, Thermtech is continuously improving the TCC® solution and developing new solutions designed to handle different types of industrial waste.
The TCC® technology converts kinetic energy to thermal energy in a thermal desorption process that efficiently separates and recovers the components of drilling waste whilst preserving the original quality of the components prior to treatment. As a result the recovered base oil can for example be re-used in new Oil Based Mud (OBM) or as fuel for diesel engines, whilst the cleaned solids have various industrial uses, such as a substitute for chalk in asphalt.
