We have all the credentials and equipment needed to handle and recycle appliances that contain refrigerants within the strict guidelines set by the Environmental Protection Agency.
Appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, chillers, water coolers, dehumidifiers, window A/C units, ice machines, and some vending machines all contain refrigerants—what we think of as Freon.
These refrigerants contain chlorine atoms, which, according to the EPA, destroy ozone in the stratosphere and allow more UV radiation to reach the earth's surface. A single chlorine atom can destroy 100,000 ozone molecules. To put this in perspective, improperly disposing of a single fridge can have the environmental impact equivalent to driving an SUV for an entire year.
As a result the EPA has imposed stiff penalties for the release of the Freon from these appliances. For this reason a fridge, freezer, or air-conditioning unit can no longer be put out to the curb for trash pickup, even on “heavy trash” days. The city or county instead requires that the appliance be evacuated of all refrigerant by a licensed technician and subsequently tagged as refrigerant-free. Having this done by another company or technician will cost you considerably more than we charge for simply hauling the whole unit(s) away to be recycled or reused responsibly, keeping them out of our local landfills.
We can also remove any other household appliances you want gone such as washers, dryers, dishwashers, stoves, microwaves, etc.
