Over the years we have grown, not only in our custom designs and jewelry we offer, but also in the services we provide and to a bigger, better location! In 2013, we moved and expanded into our current location, the corner store at 402 E. Main St. While we have been in the same building for over 20 years, we took over the corner spot and increased our space to become “the most comfortable” jewelry store in Bozeman. We are often told it feels like a Montana living room with beautiful jewelry to look at! Our beautiful new store, our great customer service and our private label jewelry line helped us become one of “Americas Coolest Jewelry Stores” through the jewelry trade magazine, IN-Store. Don’s family came to Montana in the early 1800s, making him a fourth generation Montanan. Don’s interest in rocks and gemstone grew as a child, and quickly became his passion.  As a trained gemologist and goldsmith, Don takes pride in jewelry design. His fascination with gemstones has taken him all over the world. Before opening the Gem Gallery, in 1994, Don owned and operated his own gemstone import business, Merchants of Interest which later became The Gem Gallery.   Don’s interest in Montana sapphires keeps him busy traveling to the Yogo Sapphire mine, as well as overseas for gemstone cutting. He has taught many classes on Yogo sapphires and the other sapphires in Montana, and is considered a leading authority on these precious gems by many

A Bozeman, Montana native, Philip received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Metalsmithing from Montana State University. He has since studied the art of stone-setting under Master Goldsmith Blaine Lewis at the New Approach School for Jewelers in Virginia. Philip has been at the bench at The Gem Gallery since 2006 and creates beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces that are custom designed and hand-built. His work focuses on hand fabricated pieces, intricate stone settings, and multi-metal inlays. Philip comes to work with a smile.
