About Company

Texas Metal Works is a custom design and fabrication agency specialized in sculptural fine art and heirloom quality furnishings.

Sculptural Fine Art

Our Artisans manipulate the strongest materials on Earth by combining old world techniques with cutting edge computer controlled technologies. You’re as likely to find our Smiths delicately sculpting steel with a hammer and anvil as you are to witness them harnessing the awesome power of a 150 pound mechanical hammer.

We directly fabricate complex free-standing and wall-mounted artistic pieces one at a time. As opposed to building a mold and pouring liquid metal into it, our creations evolve and take shape throughout the process – much the same way skyscrapers are built.

Many projects require far greater precision than human hands can achieve, so we employ a number of robotic processes in their creation. Indeed some projects can only be achieved by blending the latest computer aided manufacturing, with the labor intensive attention that only a skilled craftsman can supply.

Heirloom Quality Furnishings

Texas Metal Works builds unique, hand crafted furnishings from the finest materials on Earth.

While retail stores focus on cookie cutter products made from commodity materials, our artisans take the complete opposite approach. Each piece – a bed, a table, a chair, or even an entire restaurant, is discussed, conceptualized, planned, and fabricated by a true craftsman.

If you’re looking for something special, something that can’t be found anywhere else – we can build it for you. And every Texas Metal Works custom is made to stand the test of time. Because real beauty should last 1,000 years.

Public and Corporate Art

Safety. Beauty. Longevity. These are the core requirements for every Public Art Project we undertake. Unlike private art collections, public projects are often subjected to extreme weather conditions, vandalism, and use by the entire spectrum of humanity. A great deal of consideration must be given not only to creating a situationally appropriate piece of art, but also the wide range of possible interactions that may occur, and the long term care requirements.

Particular attention is placed on engineering durability into everything we do. We won’t put our name on anything we wouldn’t consider museum-quality – and we define that as being something capable of ending up in a museum 1,000 years from now. With proper care and maintenence, everything we make will survive for generations to enjoy.

Our Process

Texas Metal Works public creations begin as 3D computer models to allow for testing, inspection and modification prior to manufacturing. We believe an iterative process that allows clients to take part in shaping the final design is the only means of ensuring complete satisfation. It’s also the best way to allow teams to collaboratively review a project in order to arrive at concensus and obtain buy-in from all stakeholders.
