Our Beginning

My grandfather, Charles Tashman, and my father, Mark, came to America in 1959 and two years later opened Tashman Screens. Three years later—in response to our customers’ needs—they added hardware, becoming Tashman Screens & Hardware. Today, the Hardware division of our store carries over 25,000 items in inventory every day.

As the son of Mark, Kenny–that’s me–started helping out around the store when I was about seven years old. My pay was 25¢ an hour—not a bad living for a seven-year old. But, there was a lot more to it than earning an honest wage—I received something money can’t buy–an education.

Tashman Home Center

To meet ever-changing customer needs, Tashman Screens & Hardware became Tashman Home Center, which has now been formally divided into three divisions: Hardware, Screens & Glass and Windows & Doors.

We select and carry only the finest manufacturers—those that can deliver the highest quality products at a fair price. In addition, we are a licensed contractor (Lic # 298720) specializing in the installation of our windows and doors, screens and glass, closet interiors, bath enclosures and much more; and, if we install it, we guarantee it.

Your Neighborhood Home Improvement Store

For over 50 years West Hollywood has been our base, but we now serve homeowners from Malibu to Los Feliz. We also specialize in serving property management companies such as Eberly Company, Decron, Ritz Properties, Beaumont Company and many others.
