History of the union
From 1949 to today…. from maintenance of local roads to waste collection.
Created in 1949 for road maintenance, the Syndicat Intercommunal de Cylindrage of the canton of Heyrieux-La Verpillière moved towards collecting refuse to become SIVOM, Syndicat Intercommunal à Vocations Multiples, in 1970.
The 90s marked a turning point, the union specialized in the collection and treatment of household waste.
In 1999, SIVOM became Syndicat Mixte Nord Dauphiné (SMND) following the creation and integration of communities of municipalities
Since that date, the SMND has continued to evolve to today cover an area of 69 municipalities, or 209,235 inhabitants.
