     In 1964 Gene Suttle began a carrier in the equipment business working as a salesman for Hobbs and Suttle in Sheridan Arkansas.  He continued working with his brother John for approximately 4 years.  In 1969, Gene started his own business in DeQueen Arkansas.  Shortly thereafter Suttle Equipment Company was officially incorporated.

     Suttle Equipment offered Prentice loaders and Franklin skidders until 1972 then Timberjack was chosen to replace the Franklin line.  Nearly a decade later Suttle Equipment became an exclusive Prentice dealer after John Deere acquired Timberjack.

     Doug Suttle started his tenure in February of 1971.  His responsibility at that time was overseeing the ever-expanding parts department.  Today he is in charge of all operations.  Keeping in line with Suttle's history of strong family ties, Doug also has two daughters, one son-in-law, and two nephews serving integral roles in the day to day operations.  Gene's son-in-law, Frank Grady joined the business in 1972 as a sales representative.  He joined Doug in overseeing operations in 1978 after Gene retired.  Frank continued that role until his untimely passing from cancer in1999.  David Whisenhunt assumed the duties of Sales Manager in 1997.  Jimmy McLaughlin joined the company in 1973 and today is the chief financial officer.

      In an effort to increase its service area and better serve its customers, Suttle Equipment expanded its operation by adding two stores.  The branch in Arkadelphia was added in 1989, then Dardanelle sever years later.

     Suttle's commitment to sell premium products and provide parts and service for all the equipment they sell has allowed them to claim the title as the premier forestry equipment dealer in their territory. 

     With the Prentice name other great companies were merged such as CTR and Hydro-Ax.  this combination of loader, skidder, delimber and feller bunchers made it possible to supply the logger with quality equipment from one source.

     Today's logger has the option of purchasing products from Prentice, CSI, Quadco, Rotobec, Pitts trailers and with the added interest in bio mass material, we have recently added Woodsman chippers to our product line.
