Our History

In 1945, Superior Manufacturing Company was born out of the post World War II domestic automobile boom. As the Big Three automobile manufacturers established dealerships throughout the country, Superior developed a profitable niche supplying durable steel storage bins for this market. The recession of the early fifties, coupled with market saturation of dealerships, necessitated a change in direction for the company. Superior developed the engineering expertise required to become a job shop manufacturer for textile, telecommunications, and other emerging industries, providing both machining and metal fabricating services.

Our Progress

The expansion of our country’s infrastructure that began in the late sixties lead to significant opportunities with major construction equipment manufacturers. Operator cabs, fuel and hydraulic tanks, and other precision fabricated assemblies became and remain today as the mainstream of our business. Management’s commitment to the specialization and modernization required to continue to prosper in all economic climates has lead to many enhancements in capabilities over the years, including a fully automated paint system for both liquid and powder finishes. Modern equipment and a highly skilled and dedicated workforce assure that Superior is well positioned to face the many challenges of the new millennium.
