Stutzman Refuse Disposal was created in 1957 by Perry L. Stutzman and his wife Silvia. With the help of his sons, John and Darrell, Perry grew the company from a modest "one man with one truck" operation serving a small commercial route in Hutchinson to the reputable Central Kansas waste management company it is today. Located in South Hutchinson, Stutzman Refuse Disposal is a Central Kansas waste management company employing local people with an average of 15 years of service to the communities we serve. Although we are now nationally owned by Waste Connections, we continue to be locally operated. We are proud to serve our communities and hope to continue to watch them grow and succeed. Our focus is to aid in the sustainability of Reno and Rice Counties. We are a proud member of the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber and we respectfully contribute and support many local churches, charities, organizations and area schools. In the mid-90's we began the blue bag recycling program throughout the city of Hutchinson. In 2008, we introduced one of our proudest advancements; we constructed and house the largest single stream recycling plant in Central Kansas. Stutzman Refuse Disposal processes roughly 2000 tons per month through our single stream recycling facility, keeping it out of our local landfill. We also process recycling material from Wichita and surrounding areas, EI Dorado, Hays and several other cities.Providing commercial waste removal and residential trash collection
Whether you need a roll-off container for your business or construction site, front load trash bins for your special event, twice a week commercial waste and recycling services, weekly single or multi-family residential waste collection and recycling pickup, or even a compactor for your restaurant, Stutzman Refuse Disposal offers a variety of affordable services and plans that can be customized to suit your waste removal needs. Plus, when it comes to residential recycling service and commercial recycling service, Stutzman Refuse Disposal is the only single stream recycling plant in all of Kansas to accept and process glass on site. We grind the glass down to a sand-like form and haul it to Johns Manville in McPherson, Kansas.Stutzman Refuse Disposal is a locally operated Central Kansas waste management company owned by Waste Connections, a national leader in residential trash collection, single-stream recycling and construction and commercial waste removal services. Dedicated to our customers and the communities in which we live and work, we proudly serve Reno, Rice, and Barton Counties including the municipalities of Hutchinson, South Hutchinson, Buhler, Lyons, Pretty Prairie, Sterling, Nickerson, Hoisington, and many more. Stutzman Refuse Disposal has the only Single Stream Recycling Processing Plant in Central Kansas. Our facility is a key component in the residential recycling services we provide our cities by allowing us to collect and process recyclables on-site. Our patented glass recycling process is innovative and processes mixed glass, crushes it to a sand-like mixture and then ships the glass to Johns Manville in McPherson, KS, which recycles it into fiberglass insulation. Participation in our residential recycling services is voluntary, affordable and easy to do. In some cities, recycling is included with the cost of trash disposal. In rural areas, there is a small fee for the cart and monthly collection.
