About Company

The medium-sized family company STENAU has been active in the waste disposal industry for almost five decades. From the classic waste disposal company, STENAU developed into a modern service provider and recycling specialist at an early stage. STENAU stands for reliable and individual waste disposal at the highest level. Qualified and committed employees, innovative vehicle technology and efficient recycling options for recovering valuable materials in terms of the circular economy are the cornerstones of our success. Customer-oriented thinking and acting in accordance with our guideline "STENAU ... it couldn't be better" have top priority for us and are lived by our qualified employees through their daily commitment.

PHILOSOPHY

When we talk about disposal, we think of recycling first and foremost. A holistic process that requires responsible action.

When it comes to disposal, we advise and support customers on request with regard to the entire material flow management and create complete concepts from material evaluation and quality assurance through collection and logistics to sophisticated recycling solutions. An ongoing process in practice, as we continuously improve the quality of our recycling solutions. For us, one of the most important concerns in order to constantly work on the further development of techniques and processes. In this way, more and more raw materials can be generated that can be returned to the material cycle.

HISTORY

1970

Gertrud and Theo Stenau founded their company "Theo Stenau" in Gronau. The first municipal orders for waste disposal came from the old Ahaus and Steinfurt districts.

The first location was right next to the private house; the first transfer station was operated in Gronau on Henschelstrasse.

In the meantime, due to a lack of space, a locomotive shed was even rented from the Deutsche Bundesbahn.

1979

The Grafschaft Bentheim joined the client list; an additional location was established there in Nordhorn.

1980

STENAU took over the Möller company in Rheine (today 2M Disposal).

1985

The company premises in Ahaus were acquired.

1987
Inaugurated STENAU's new main location on von-Braun-Strasse. STENAU has various sorting and composting facilities there; a transfer station was also set up.

2013

Ahlen was added as a location. The medium-sized company is currently active at eight locations. In addition to Ahaus, Gronau and Ahlen, there are also Rheine, Diepholz, Heek, Nordhorn and Reichenbach in Vogtland.

The classic waste disposal company has transformed into a recycling specialist and service provider.

2020

In September this year, STENAU Disposal celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Theo and Gertrud Stenau are still managing the company today as shareholders.

Dr. Georg Grüber, Dr. Hubertus Reloe and Berthold Bonte.
