Steeltech Building Products, Inc., founded in 1965, was originally named Guy Jodice Building Products, Inc. and acted as a manufacturer's representative for various steel construction products. The name was changed to Steeltech Building Products, Inc. in May 1970, to reflect the change in the company's role to a distributor and specialty contractor of steel products.

By 1980 Steeltech had evolved into a company with four separate operating divisions: Structural Steel Fabrication and Erection; Doors and Hardware; Toilet Partitions and Accessories; and Architectural and Industrial Metal Siding. The year 1997 saw the addition of pre-engineered building to its siding and roofing division.

The company was originally housed in a 3,000 square foot rented facility in Bloomfield, CT before moving to a new 10,000 square foot structure in Bloomfield in 1970. That building was expanded by seven separate additions over the years and by 1990 had grown to a 35,000 square foot facility.

In November 1997 Steeltech relocated to a new, modern, 38,000 square foot, state-of-the-art office and manufacturing facility in South Windsor, CT and the addition of an automated steel fabrication beam line. We currently employ 50 workers and report $15 million in revenues.

1999 marked Steeltech's entry into the world of e-commerce with the formation of section10net.com Inc., which became econstructionspecialties.com.

Steeltech Building Products, Inc., operates as a supplier, subcontractor and specialty contractor for the construction and renovation of commercial, industrial and institutional buildings and also serves the occupied facilities after market for many of these products.

We are a market leader in the delivery and erection of structural steel, miscellaneous metals, metal siding and roofing, pre-engineered buildings, metal and wood doors, frames, builders hardware and toilet partitions and accessories.

Management

William E. Keohane, President

Bill Keohane joined Steeltech in April 1973. Prior to that he worked for Granco Steel Products of St. Louis, Missouri for four years, serving as Northeast Region Sales Manager before leaving that company.

Bill was promoted from Sales Engineer to General Manager to company President of Steeltech in 1980. In 1993 he and Bob Denton became co-owners of the company. He continues as President of Steeltech.

Keohane earned a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy at the University of Missouri in Rolla, Missouri in 1971. He was a commissioned officer in the US Army Reserves from 1971 to 1979 and at the time of discharge was Captain in the US Army Corp of Engineers. He also currently serves as the President of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Subcontractors Association.

Keith Zeiner, Division Manager of Metal Roofing, Siding & Metal Building Division

Keith Zeiner joined the company in September 1989, as Operations Manager. Prior to that he served as Production Manager at LANDEV Builders and Developers in Simsbury, CT for six years.

He became a Division Manager at Steeltech in 1998. Zeiner earned a BS degree in Forestry from Syracuse University in 1983.
