The company STEELMET, sro is a business company which is based on a valid decision of the Regional Office of the Zlín Region under. No. KUZL 73212/2009 authorized to collect, purchase, modify and process electrical waste in accordance with Act No. 185/2001 Coll. all groups of electrical equipment according to Annex No. 7 to Act No. 185/2001 Coll. with the exception of electrical equipment containing substances that deplete the ozone layer (refrigeration equipment with freon charges) and light sources (fluorescent lamps, discharge lamps). For this activity, the operation has technologies at its disposal, which are systematically supplemented and modernized so that the main goal of the sheltered workshop STEELMET, sro - employment of the maximum possible number of people with altered working ability while maintaining the economic stability of the company.

History

The history of STEELMET, sro dates back to the year 2000, since 2006 the company started to employ people with disabilities, when the first 5 so-called sheltered jobs were created. At that time, the company operated in a smaller leased workshop and performed minor dismantling work, especially for the company KOVOSTEEL, sro, as part of the dismantling of used electrical appliances.

In 2009, STEELMET purchased a 100% stake in MESIT Recycling, a sheltered workshop, and since the beginning of 2010 all employees of these originally two companies have been working together under one name STEELMET, sro in new premises in the Old Town.

In 2016, STEELMET acquired a 100% business share in Modrý kvítek, sro and thus took over all its activities, especially the production of packaging. As of 1 January 2018, the company has 105 employees, of which 85 are disabled (ie 80% of the total number of employees).

From the beginning, the company specializes in the recycling of electrical waste. In the field of electrical waste processing, it is one of the largest processors in the Czech Republic.

In 2015, STEELMET was the first company in the Czech Republic to receive the WEEELABEX certificate proving compliance with the highest standards for the processing of electrical waste.
