•  Flame Cutting is a method of cutting steel in which the metal is heated to about 800°C which is focused through a torch in a jet of ignited gas. Steel Plate Akron/Atlanta has two facilities and 8 oxy-fuel flame cutting machines to meet your requirements and delivery needs.
• Plasma cutting is a process that is used to cut steel and other metals of different thicknesses using a plasma torch. In this process, an inert gas is blown at high speed out of a nozzle; at the same time an electrical arc is formed through that gas from the nozzle to the surface being cut, turning some of that gas to plasma. The plasma is sufficiently hot to melt the metal being cut and moves sufficiently fast to blow molten metal away from the cut.
• Shot / Sand Blasting is a method of cleaning or stripping the surface of the metal by directing a high speed stream of steel particles at it.
• Plate Rolling is a process used to form metal plates to a specific curve or radius to form arcs, rings, cylinders, shells, tanks, and cones.
• CNC Machining or Computer Numerical Control (CNC) is the automation of machine tools that are operated by precisely programmed commands encoded on a storage medium, as opposed to controlled manually via hand wheels or levers, or mechanically automated via cams alone. CNC Machining and can handle complex programs to achieve extremely precise finished machining results and tolerances.
