The glass recycling process involves converting discarded glass into a useful product. Glass is an ideal material for recycling, because it can be recycled and reused almost endlessly. - Reducing the amount of waste, and thus the cost of waste storage and landfill operation; - Reducing the amount of natural raw materials for glass production (sand, soda, etc.); - Reduction of energy consumption required for melting the glass mixture by using a larger amount of waste glass, or glass debris. For every 10% higher amount of glass debris in the glass mixture from which glass is made by melting, 3% less energy is needed for melting, and CO2 emissions in the atmosphere are lower by 7%. This reduces the production price of glass, and reduces pollution of the human environment. - The use of glass debris, due to lower thermal load, extends the life of the glass furnace, which also makes the production of glass cheaper.
