As a teenager Frank Snyder worked at the local Studebaker dealership as a mechanic, the GM dealership in the body shop and at Olson's, a local body shop. In the fall of 1973 he decided to take his interest in cars a step further by opening his own body shop, Snyder's Auto Body. He started with one employee and only two bays to work in. A year later he added onto his building, doubling his work space, and hired another employee. With the purchase of his first wrecker in 1976 he expanded his business again by adding towing to the list of services offered. Eventually this left the impound lot full of abandoned vehicles, leading to the used parts business. In 1980 Frank's son, Tom, started working full time after graduating from high school and eventually helped expand the business to what it is today.
Almost 40 years later Snyder's has gone from a small operation with two employees to a family run business that employs nine. Services have grown to include frame alignment, auto glass replacement and many others.
