The company Smětal, sro with its registered office in Bystrovany near Olomouc was established in 2004. It mainly deals with road transport and waste management. The priority of this company is to carry out activities with regard to the environment, the safety of employees and other persons, and especially the provision of quality environmental services in the Olomouc region.

Smětal's most commonly used equipment is crawler excavators, dump trucks, a jaw crusher and a wheel loader. New Holland crawler excavators, with a handle of hydraulic shears or Montabert hammers, are most often used for demolition and renovation of buildings.

Dump trucks are eight-wheeled with a cargo space volume of 16 m³, which allows efficient movement of materials needed for construction, while minimizing the burden on the environment. The Resta jaw crusher and Volvo wheel loader are designed for recycling construction waste.

To the high mobility of these two machines, the recycling of construction waste is becoming available to partners even outside the premises of Smětal. Construction waste is crushed and processed directly at the place of origin and then used immediately for further construction activities. This service helps recycle construction waste and eliminates the transport of waste to the landfill or to the recycling center and back, minimizing the traffic load and reducing the generation of more CO2.

Other business activities in the field of the environment:

The company Martin Smětal deals with container transport and since 1991 has also operated its own recycling center in the village of Bystrovany. The advantageous combination of these two areas offers the possibility to process different amounts of construction waste from large entities and private persons. Organized processing and subsequent recycling of construction waste without quantity restrictions is thus available to all entities. The recycling center now processes around 20,000 tons of construction waste per year and is an ecological solution for the location and recycling of construction waste.

VISION FOR THE FUTURE

In the future, the company Martin Smětal deals with the idea of ​​building a composting plant, which should expand the portfolio of services provided in the field of waste management and thus significantly contribute to the further improvement of the environment in the Olomouc region.

The real numbers of the volume of green waste, which is exported to the landfill in the Olomouc region without further use, led us to this idea.

Our goal is to reduce this volume and introduce a kind of biodegradable waste cycle between private individuals and the composting plant. Ancillary biodegradable household waste would be composted and further used as a fertilizer for private and public use when planting greenery in public areas or for less use in gardens.

The construction of a composting plant would mean an alternative solution to one chapter of waste management and a partial release of capacity to the local landfill for mixed waste in Mrsklesy.

The next future steps of Martin Smětal will be the modernization of already operated services in waste management and the search for opportunities for their further development.
