In 2012, second-generation owner Frank Bernert Jr. sold the company to frequent customer H&M Metal Processing, which now operates the plant at its upgraded facility at 1414 Kenmore Blvd. Like Service Iron & Steel, H&M Metal Processing is family-owned and operated – and committed to the Akron community. • Pre-processing services at Service Iron & Steel include: sawing, shearing and shape burning. Service Iron & Steel can provide pieces for even for the smallest orders, and because the steel is prepared to our customers’ standards, it’s ready to use immediately.
• Service Iron & Steel offers a range of metal shearing services for customers who need pieces of sheet metal cut from larger stock. Shears are used as the preliminary step in preparing stock for stamping processes, or smaller blanks for CNC presses.
