History
Since 1972 the name "SICKING" has stood for car recycling, towing service or just "scrap yard" in Lippstadt, the Soest district and the surrounding area.
Heinz Sicking was the young founder of this incredibly fast growing company.
At the beginning, in 1972, the project started, as so often, from the parents' house on a farm in the rural district of Lippstadt, Cappel.
At the age of 26, he tried his luck by doing his part-time job, selling used spare parts, in addition to his main job as an employee. 5 vehicles quickly became 15, then 30, 40, 50, ... until there was no longer enough space. The foundation stone was laid.
After more than ten years of self-employment, the founder decided to take the next step: the company should expand. In order to realize this, a larger area was needed ... The decision was quickly made in favor of the industrial area at the water tower in Lippstadt, which offered good connections and plenty of free space.
From small farms to 8,500m² in commercial areas. This was also filled quickly, but you could now work properly without standing in your own way and the foundation stone for the environmentally friendly disposal of old vehicles could finally be laid.
Paved surfaces, oil separators, collecting basins, covered storage halls, dismantling halls, all these are the most important prerequisites for running such an operating facility.
The office container quickly became the first workshop with an office building, and over the following years four more halls followed for the dismantling and repair of vehicles and for the storage of countless spare parts.
Word quickly got around about the large selection of different brands, so that the name Sicking became known in the entire area and in the Soest district in a short time.
Especially at a time when it was not yet possible to order parts from home online, it was very advantageous to know such an address.
In the mid-1990s, Heinz Sicking expanded the range of services to include a 24/7 towing service, which from then on with trained staff and in some cases up to 5 tow trucks has been placed in the area.
The focus was on cooperation with the authorities such as the police, public order office and fire brigade. But many car dealerships also rely on the emergency service of the Sicking company outside of their general opening times.
The securing and recovery of vehicles involved in an accident were just some of the company's services.
Heinz Sicking passed away in 2016 after having been badly hit by illness in 2015, so that the company was on the brink of collapse. The company slipped into bankruptcy, but that didn't last long.
Peter Writsch von Rekowski, who worked for Heinz Sicking for over 20 years, decided to continue running the company together with his son, Martin, and founded the company again at the beginning of 2018 under a slightly different name.
The customers were thrilled when they heard that the iconic car recycling company from Lippstadt is doing it again after a break of almost two years!
We do our best to continue to be there for you with a lot of motivation, knowledge, heart and ambition! :)
