Sergio has been part of the Howard County Community his entire life. He grew up in Columbia and attended Wild Lake H.S. where his jewelry education began. After high school, Sergio continued learning about jewelry through hands-on experience working at the bench. In fact, every job he had after high school had been fixing and creating jewelry until he opened his first store in Catonsville in 1984. An instant success, Sergio used his expansive jewelry knowledge and natural business skills to grow his business quickly. In two short years, he had outgrown his original store and moved into a larger location.

Sergio started selling Jewelry in the Baltimore area in 1984. Since 1998, he has been providing Howard County, Maryland the best selection of the finest jewelry available. In 1998, he opened Sergio's Fine Jewelery in Ellicott City. Sergio possesses two certificates in Professional Gemology and sits on the Board of Directors for the Maryland/ Delaware/ Washington D.C. Jewelry Association.

A fine example of Sergio's commitment to customer service is his unique Diamond Identification program. Like people, every diamond has a unique fingerprint. When you bring a diamond in for service, Sergio's will examine your stone under 10x magnification and map out any inclusions and blemishes. You can even look at the stone under the maginfication for yourself. You'll then leave the store with a detailed "fingerprint" of your diamond, guaranteeing the diamond you brought in for service is the same one you get back. Our jeweler is on-site for rush jobs and to help guide you through the process, from beginning the stages of design, to the beautiful finished product. At Sergio's, we can also reset loose stones that you may have thrown in your jewelry box and forgotten about.

Watch repair

Sergio's can supply parts to repair both new and antique watches. Sergio's has a professional relationship with an expert watch maker to handle the more complicated watch repairs such as new crystals, cleanings, and complete overhauls.

Re-Cut Stones

If your diamonds or other gem stones have been chipped over time, don't worry! Our expert stone cutter can re-cut and polish your stones back to a state of perfection. We can also turn your old-cut round diamonds into beautiful modern round brilliants.

Appraisals

Our appraiser is an independent appraiser certified by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Appraisals are by appointment or you can drop an item off to be appraised and we will contact you when it is ready. If you are settling an estate or if it's more convenient, our appraiser can also come to your house or place of business to do appraisals. Please call and ask for details.

Engraving

Sergio's can provide machine or hand engraving. We can do everything from a simple initial carving to something as complex as a coat-of-arms.
