Based in West Salem, WI, Select Trusses is a privately owned wood and light gauge steel roof and floor truss manufacturer. Over the past 30 years Select Trusses & Lumber Inc. has grown to become one of the leading truss manufacturers in the Midwest serving WI, MN, IL, & IA. Our dedicated staff utilize the latest Mitek software and components in combination with our fully automated Monet Desauw’s, Virtek lasers, and PLANX Automated Jigging tables to manufacture trusses that fit right the first time.

Truss Design

Truss design starts with using our Mitek computer aided software. With over 30 years of being in the truss business, Select Trusses has the experience to know where to be conservative and where to deliver value without adding expense. Our designers consider all aspects of the specific project they are working on to ensure a proper layout is developed for an efficient and problem free truss installation.

Once your project’s design is complete, your truss specifications are entered into our Mitek truss engineering software by our designers. Wind and snow loads, top and bottom chord loading, height and size of the building are all considered by Select designers. While most people see many common or standard truss designs, Select Trusses specializes in custom designed and engineered trusses for your next project.

Component Saws

Upon approval from our customer to build their job, the engineered information is downloaded directly to one of our automated component saws. The saw’s blades are automatically adjusted to the desired angle and cut based on the truss specifications. Each piece is then labeled for assembly.

Manufacturing

Manufacturing trusses of the highest quality is our goal. Over the years we have made substantial investments in our manufacturing facility and equipment which enables us to consistently produce accurate, high quality trusses that meet our customers timeline and budget. Our Virtek laser system begins the truss assembly process by beaming down the specified truss profile for our builders to accurately jig. Once the jigging is complete, our pre-cut material is combined to form the specific truss being built. The material combined forms the profile of our truss and Mitek plates are then tacked into place and rolled with our Mitek Roof Tracker gantry system. Before bundling the trusses we use our Auto Roll Finish Press to ensure complete plate embedment.

AG Truss Press

Our Mitek vertical press reduces the “banana” effect of wide chord lumber used in AG, girder and room-in-attic trusses.

Floor Truss Manufacturing

Our two floor truss machines can get you your custom trusses when you need them. We can build 12″ deep to 24″ deep floor trusses with a maximum clear span of 40′. Please refer to our truss publications page for more information on maximum floor truss clear spans.

Truss Delivery

Delivery charges are included in the quoted price if the job is within a 200 mile radius of West Salem, WI. To calculate shipping costs outside of our normal 200 mile radius just ask your Select salesman. We have routine delivery routes covering much of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, and Iowa. Our flat bed trucks are used for smaller job sites while we have delivered up to 106′ trusses with our extendable trailers. Trusses on both the flat bed trucks and extendable trailers are always carefully rolled off.
