Second Street Iron & Metal Co., Inc is a fourth generation, family owned and operated business that has served the scrap iron and metal recycling industry for over 100 years. We operate two scrap yards, in Chelsea and Everett, and service both small and large businesses throughout the Northeast Region. We are well-known for our timely and efficient service within our roll-off container division, and are very well respected within our “peddler trade.”

Second Street Iron & Metal Co. Inc purchases all grades of steel, as well as most non-ferrous materials, including but not limited to aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, bronze, zinc and various alloys. 
Second Street Iron & Metal Co., Inc   is open from 6:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 6:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. on Saturday for material drop-off. We weigh your material in front of you, write up a slip and pay immediately by cash or check, whichever your preference

We also have the ability to deliver 15-, 30- or 40-yard containers, Gaylord boxes, balers, hoppers or barrels for convenient storage of your scrap material. We can service these containers within 24 hours of your request and often sooner. Second Street Iron & Metal Co.,  Inc never charges a fee for containers and there are no hidden delivery or fuel costs. When we pick up your material, we bring it directly back to our yard where we weigh and process your material. We are known for our prompt payment, so there is never a worry! 
We also have a state-of-the-art thermo-niton alloy analyzer, as well as a digital truck scale. We buy all grades of steel – and have the best prices in the area.
