The company Schmeer Sand + Kies is a regional family company in the fourth generation and has been active in various locations in Saarland for over 115 years. The commitment to social responsibility in business and society, as well as personal commitment in areas of public life, go without saying. In the more than 100 year history of the company, great importance has always been attached to sustainability. Nature protection in the sense of preserving the biodiversity of flora and fauna.

Measures in the extraction of raw materials are limited in time, resulting in real hotspots of biological diversity. And this because we do what we do! This creates dynamic processes in the landscape. For example, we operate a biotope and species protection management with the aim of interlinking the concept during ongoing operations. This goes far beyond the legal requirements.

In times of the biodiversity crisis, it goes without saying to make a natural contribution. The primary goal of protection management is the permanent preservation of the existing characteristic species inventory. This also includes keeping the open spaces gently open by grazing their own small flock of sheep.
